PHRD (Protect Human Rights Defenders) welcomes enquiries from defenders at risk, partner organisations, policymakers, researchers, and journalists. All communications are treated with strict confidentiality and a do-no-harm standard.
Response time: We aim to respond within 48 hours. For urgent situations involving immediate risk to a defender's safety, please indicate this clearly.
If you or someone you know is facing danger or persecution as a result of human rights work, contact us as a priority. Please indicate urgency.
PHRD welcomes dialogue with EU officials and elected representatives on human rights defender protection and EU policy engagement.
We collaborate with peer civil society organisations, legal aid providers, and human rights networks. Partnership proposals are welcome.

We recommend encrypted communication where possible. If you are unsure how to do this safely, we can provide guidance — but assess your risk level first.
